COSAN

COSAN is a bilingual traditional Celtic music group from Prince-Edward-Island, Canada.

COSAN is Andrée Mackula and Claudie Mackula, along with some additional musicians from time to time if requested.

Andrée & Claudie Mackula are two sisters who live on PEI and grew up mainly in Eastern Canada (Québec and New-Brunswick) where traditional music has always had an important presence.

Self-taught musicians, they started singing and playing music at a very young age, but it's only a few years later, at around age 14, that they discovered their passion for Celtic music and songs.

Since then, Andrée (Fiddle and voices) and Claudie (Guitar, voices and dance) have been building a large and diversified repertoire of traditional tunes and songs to which they added their own musical and vocal arrangements.

Robin Brooks (Irish Tin and Low whistle, Bodhran and Guitar) was part of the group from 2014 to 2017.

The group's performance includes lively rythmic Irish and Cape Breton reels, slow Irish ballads along with popular Irish and Gaelic songs. The energetic trio also include Irish tap dancing to most of their performances. They can also offer a bilingual show (French, English or both).

COSAN have been performing for the public since 2007 for many Events and Festivals, including Canada's Irish Festival and the Fredericton Highland Games Festival in New-Brunswick only  to name a few.
